Occupational Start. Geographical Determinants for School and Further Careers of School Leavers
The aim of the analysis was to identify and define the geographical relations concerning both occupational education (commuting to schools), further education, as well as the passage of school leavers on to the labour market (first job, own business, unemployment, occupational passivity). The analysed relations comprised both the characteristics of relocations (permanent and seasonal, as well as daily commuting) and the impact of the place of residence on the educational and occupational success.
The analysis, authored by Robert Guzik and Krzysztof Wiedermann, has used the data collected during the second “Survey of vocational school leavers”, carried out by the Regional Labour Office in Kraków, as part of the Labour Market and Education Observatory of Małopolska project. The survey was done in 2012 (August–October) and its respondents were students of basic vocational, technical secondary and post-secondary schools in Małopolska.
The report was published by Regional Labour Office in Krakow in 2013.
