Study visit to Poznań

The purpose of the visit was to exchange experience and information between the Observatory and institutions in Poznań which do research on the labour market and education.
On the first day the Observatory employees learnt about activities undertaken by the Quality of Life Research Centre (which operates under the aegis of the Adam Mickiewicz University Institute of Sociology). The Centre presented the methodology used and the results obtained by the analyses ordered by the Poznań City Hall, as well as the principles underpinning a cooperation with the local government administration and the media. Finally, the representatives of the City Development Department in Poznań City Hall explained how they use the research results obtained in their every-day work and what strengths and weaknesses they see in the cooperation between the university and the City Hall.
On the second day of the visit the representatives of the Observatory met the employees of the Adam Mickiewicz University Institute of Sociology. The premises behind the research and results of the research carried out by the Institute were presented during the meeting. Furthermore, the participants established the basic principles for cooperation between the Institute and the Observatory.
