28/07/2007
The participants were the Observatory team members, the representatives of the project "Małopolska Partnership for Lifelong Learning" and the representatives of the partner institutions: the Regional Centre for Social Policy and two departments in the Marshal's Office of the Małopolska Region: Department of Transport, Economics and Infrastructure and Department of Education and Sport.
The main objective of the visit was to learn about experience in conducting research on the local labour market and the cooperation between research institutes and the public administration. Furthermore, the participants became acquainted with the action taken by the Scottish Government in support of entrepreneurs (Scottish Enterprise), employees (Career Scotland) and vulnerable groups like immigrants and the socially excluded.
The visit was hosted by Napier University in Edinburgh. The Polish guests learnt about the University’s activities, including its achievements in cooperating with graduates and public institutions, and research carried out by the Employment Research Institute.
